Three big shows for this weekend in Austin - House, funk, soul, latin, classics and all that jazz

I hope everyone's doin' well so far this week. Here's the lowdown on a few of this weekend's events... Three good shows with tons of DJs well worth checking out. On Friday, House Addict Fridays and resident Mark Denim return with guests including DJs Matteo and Kadabra, plus DJ Digg from Table Manners Crew (yep, playing House Music just for this night!) and Yeah Def representing GhostPizza Dallas. Check the event details here.

And next, after an extremely successful first run, the East End Boys from Houston along with Toddy B bring Praia Urbana back to the Roial rooftop in Austin on Saturday from 2p-10p for its second edition, this time with globe-trotter DJ Wady from Colombia. Also, there are plenty of local stars on the bill, including J.A.M.O.N., Allen Tagle, Big Rich and William Konitzer, and of course Toddy B, plus Praia residents Alex Clavijo, Bobby Blyss and my soul brother Esteban Torres. For those that weren't there the first time, you definitely missed out and you don't want to miss this one. Come early - There will be great food and drink specials early and there's plenty of great lounge seating and shade to enjoy the daytime vibes and dancing.

Finally, on Sunday from 8p-2a, Soul of the Boot and StrangeTribe kick off their new monthly on fourth Sundays @ Lanai - "Soul Shrine" with local funk connoisseur Chorizo Funk and special guest Rich Medina. Rich is a true veteran and master of the culture, and is deep into soul, afro-beat, disco, soul, house and all that jazz. Be sure to catch this show if you can. Papa Chop and Jeff Strange never disappoint.

Ok, ya'll have a great weekend.

Stay safe, dance hard and keep it positive : )
